Meet the Instructors
Erik Van der Veken
Erik Van der Veken, a Belgian pastry chef and chocolatier, embarked on his culinary journey at the age of 14 at the esteemed Patisserie School PIVA in Antwerp. His expertise spans across various roles, from crafting exquisite pastries in renowned Belgian patisseries to showcasing his mastery of chocolate at esteemed 5-star establishments such as the Hotel Café Royal in London.
Erik's career expanded beyond borders, leading him to develop innovative concepts in Saudi Arabia and consult for prestigious luxury brands across the UK and the Middle East. In 2015, he made Ireland his home base, where he discovered a profound passion for teaching and sharing his wealth of knowledge through hosting engaging Masterclasses.

Cyril Borie
Cyril's journey began in Bayonne, the revered chocolate capital of France, where he honed his craft and expertise. Venturing through various artisanal pâtisseries across France, he cultivated a wealth of experience before setting roots in Ireland to carve his own path in the industry.
For a decade, Cyril cultivated his business, infusing it with his unwavering dedication to taste, design, and uncompromising quality. Seeking a new horizon, he embraced a fresh challenge, bringing his wealth of knowledge and passion for chocolate and patisserie to Odaios Foods.
